Paul W. Shear

Paul W. Shear, age 74, of Portage passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Rittenhouse of Portage. He was born September 24, 1950, in Gary, Indiana to Peter and Leona (Urbanek) Shear. Paul was a Correctional Sargeant retired from the Westville Correctional Center. Paul loved Science Fiction Movies and Books. He was also an avid history buff.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Vicki; his mother, Leona Shear of North Fort Meyers, FL; a brother, Peter (Sue) Shear of Mishawaka; two sisters, Marsha (Steve) Zajicek of Valparaiso, and Donna Croddy of Cape Coral, FL; his brother-in-law, Scott (Pat) Eaton of Valparaiso; several nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Peter Shear; and sister, Susan Schneider.

Visitation for Paul will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 11 am to 1 pm at the Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. His funeral will follow immediately at 1 pm. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
