Pauline Loughran, 96 , of Lake Station, passed away Monday, June 29, 2015 at Miller Merry Manor in Portage. She was the beloved wife of the late John "Jack" Loughran who passed away March 4, 1974. They were joined in marriage May 2, 1942 for 31 years, Loving mother of Linda D. (nee Loughran) Thompson of Portage and John D. (Jeannette) Loughran of Hebron; cherished grandmother of Ronald L. (Tracy) Thompson of Portage, Steven M. Thompson of Chesterton, James H. (Shelly) Tinnel, Jr. of Demotte, Laura E. (nee Tinnel (Mark) Robinson of Columbia, SC, Joseph J. (Amy) Tinnel of Portage, Jamie M. Loughran of Knoxville, TN., Janette K. (nee Loughran) (Travis) Bardsley of Lake Jackson, TX., and Jillian S. Loughran of Lake Station; adoring great grandmother of Daniel L., Ashley N., and Desirae A. Thompson, Tyler R., Ryan J., and Allison B. Tinnel, Jenna N., Jacob M., and Kelley Robinson, Kinley M. and Declan T. Tinnel, Arianna K. and Gavin M. Bardsley, Hunter V. and John M. Loughran; dear aunt to several nephews and nieces.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Daulton E. Oglesby, sisters Ruthy M. Oglesby, Cora H. (nee Oglesby) (late Dale) Webb, daughter Joyce E. (nee Loughran) Tinnel and son in law Denziel L. Thompson.
Pauline was born in Ziegler, IL on January 2, 1919 to Hampton and Edna M. (nee Wallace) Oglesby and was a long time resident of Lake Station. She belonged to the Church of the Nazarene in Portage. For years she volunteered at the voting polls. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, collecting recipes and was an avid reader. She loved cooking for and enjoyed the gathering of her family. Very important to her was raising and caring for her family, being a devoted friend and being a good homemaker. She was a good and caring person always giving herself. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart with Pastor Bob Burton , officiating.
