PEARL M. STEWART, age 69, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Saint Mary Medical Center. Pearl was born on November 10, 1942 in Russell, KY to James and Etta Mullins. She was married to Wallace Stewart on August 16, 1962 and later moved to Indiana. She loved her grandkids and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of over 49 years, Wallace; daughter, Darlena (Wayne) Whittle of Hobart; 2 grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Knox of Hobart; 1 brother, Carl (Bertha) Mullins of Flatwoods, KY; 3 nieces, Karla (Jim) Baldwin of Hobart, Bonnie (Bryan) Jelneck of Hobart, and Candy (Dan) Ally of Crown Point.

Pearl was preceded in death by her son, Jay Stewart; her parents, James and Etta; sister, Donna Proctor; and brother, Clifford Mullins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, PO Box 78960, Phoenix, AZ 85062-8960.

A funeral service for Pearl will be Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Rev. Donald Good officiating. Visitation will be just prior to the service from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com. Cremation will follow the service.
