Penny M. Sosa (nee Roop)

Age 59, of Lake Station, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Saint Mary's Medical Center. She was born in Hobart, Indiana on May 24, 1961 to the Billy Jay and Shirley (nee Hastings) Roop. She was a devoted member of the Christian Assembly Church in Hobart. Penny loved to crochet, helping out with Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir, and helping with her children's school activities. She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Penny is survived by her son, Vincent Sosa; daughter, Rachel Sosa; sister, Betty Potee, Vickie (George) Frencl and Paula Verduzco; brother, Walter (Wendy) Roop and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard "Ritchie" Sosa, her parents, two brothers, Willie, and Ross Roop.

A funeral service for Penny will be held on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Macchia Jr. officiating at Christian Assembly Church, 7498 Grand Blvd, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
