Perla Del Rocio Barajas, age 35, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021.  She was born in Colima, Mexico on September 2, 1985, to Jose and Eltsa (nee Anguiano) Barajas Sr.  Perla cherished the time she spent with her children. She enjoyed her time at Ravenscroft Beauty School in Forte Wayne, Indiana where she attended classes to become a cosmetologist.  Perla will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. Perla is survived by her five children, Estefan Alejandro Koonce, Sofia Eltsa Koonce, Gemma Hope Koonce, Javier Remy Porter and Daniel Rudy Ruiz; husband, Stephen Koonce; father, Jose (Luchir) Barajas Sr.; brother, Jose L. (Kristen) Barajas Jr.; sister, Marlene (Justin) Barajas stepbrothers, Jeremiah Henderson and Dwayne Henderson Jr.; stepsister, Amber Henderson; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Perla is preceded in death by her mother, Eltsa Barajas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Home Ministry Outreach 3765 Arthur Street, Gary, IN 46408 in memory of Perla would be greatly appreciated.A funeral service will be held Monday, July 12, 2021, at 10:00 am with Pastor William Garvin officiating at Rees Funeral Home, Winfield Chapel, 10909 Randolph St. Crown Point, IN 46307.
