Obituary

Perry Q. "BONES" Bonner

Age 96 a lifetime resident of Hobart, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 7, 1928, in Hammond, Indiana to the late Basil and B. Madeline (nee Thompson) Bonner. He was a 1947 Hobart High School graduate and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Hobart VFW and the Lake Station American Legion. Perry married the love of his life Mary d'Ouville on September 6, 1958. His lifelong hobbies are the construction of airplanes and the manufacturing of engines for small airplanes. He acquired his pilot license before obtaining his driver's license. He also had expertise in car repairs, maintaining and fixing vehicles for his family and friends. He was a man of many trades and great work ethic; he worked as a truck driver for Luke Oil and worked many years at Culligan.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 66 ½ yrs. Mary Bonner; ten children, Mark Bonner, Kurt (Mary Ellen) Bonner, Christina (David) Gurley, Madelynn (Scott) Pierson , Clete (Donna) Bonner, Annissa Keleman, Kyle (Lisa) Bonner,  Jessica (Allen) Wroblewski, Amanda (David) Couto, and Lane (Crystal) Bonner; more than 40 grandchildren; more than 40 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Ruth Koeppen; daughter in law, Brigitte Bonner ; nieces, nephews and many other loving family member and friends.

Perry was preceded in death by his son, Jan Bonner, grandson, Daniel Keleman; son in law, Douglas Keleman; brother-in-law, Jim Koeppen and three brothers, Harry, Rich and Gene Bonner.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Bridget Catholic Church 107 Main Street, Hobart, Indiana 46342.
