Philip J. Clark, age 80, of Hobart, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017. He was born on March 23, 1937 in Carlton, MN to the late Merritt and Laura Clark. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. On December 19, 1957, in Tucson, AZ, he married Janet Jansen. Phil was employed as an electrician with Inland Steel and was a member of United Steelworkers Local 1010. He enjoyed collecting coins, working in his vegetable garden, and flying small planes.
Phil is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Janet Clark; daughters, Peggy (William) Parks of Hobart, Debbie Reynolds of Porter, Phyllis (Wolfgang) Abbott of Hobart; grandchildren, Jennifer Dumath, Chris Fischer, Morgan (Alisha) Reynolds, Mitchell Reynolds; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Sheryle (Jerome) Benson; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Clark; many other loving family members and friends.
Phil was preceded in death by two brothers, Harris and Paul Clark.
A funeral service for Phil will take place Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 10:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road. He will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in North Judson. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
