PHILLIP BURRIS, age 73, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center, after a long battle with a heart condition and bladder cancer. He was born in Morgantown, KY on April 23, 1943 to the late Bennie and Marjorie Burris. Phillip was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from Bethlehem Steel after 30 years of service as a steelworker.

Phillip is survived by his 3 children, Greg (Christina) Burris, Pace, FL; and Marjorie Burris, Orange, CA; Michelle Burris, Lake Station; grandchildren, Ericka and John; brother, Roger Burris; beloved dog, Rascal.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy E. Burris.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to defray medical expenses at Allegius Credit Union in a savings account set up in Phillip's name.

A funeral service for Phillip will be Monday, July 25, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage at 2:00 p.m. There will be visitation at the funeral home from Noon until the time of service.
