Phyllis K. Anderson, age 89, of Lake Station passed away Thursday April 2, 2026, in her home with her family at her side. She was born December 13, 1936, in Gary, Indiana to the late Charles and Lillian (Douthitt) Sykes. Phyllis retired from Gainer Bank in 2000. She was a long-time member of Community Presbyterian Church in Lake Station. Phyllis was very active in her church.

Phyllis is survived by her three children, Mark (Michelle) Anderson of Lake Station, David Anderson of Hobart, and Jeanne (Mike) Killosky of Chesterton; nine grandchildren, Derek, Chris, Neil, Karli, Wendi, Abby, Katie, Jordan, and Mallory; sixteen great grandchildren; and many dear friends and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Denny Anderson; a grandson David Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Carol Anderson; and a brother John Sykes.

Visitation for Phyllis will be held from 3-7 pm Monday April 6, 2026, at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. Her Funeral will be held at 10 am Tuesday at the Community Presbyterian Church 2800 Fayette Street Lake Station, Indiana 46405 with Rev. Calvin Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Portage, Indiana
