Phyllis J. Cherrier

Phyllis J. Cherrier, age 89, of Miller, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. She was born on December 6, 1928 in Gary, Indiana to the late Ernest and Edith Cramer. Phyllis was a devoted member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.

She is survived by her sons, James (Deborah) Cherrier, Jr. of Munster, Gregory (Marsha) Cherrier of Portage; daughter, Lisa Marie (Mike) Gibson of Portage; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Cherrier, Sr.; and one brother, Robert Cramer. Memorial contributions in Phyllis' name may be made to St Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 6060 Miller Ave., Gary, IN 46403.

Visitation for Phyllis will take place Friday, October 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave. Portage. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00 am directly at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 6060 Miller Ave., Gary, IN 46403 with visitation there from 9:00 am until the time of service.
