Phyllis Marie Conklin, age 78 of Lake Station passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Hobart. Phyllis had been a lifelong resident of Lake Station. Phyllis a Native American was born April 20,1933, in Rosebud, Indian Reservation, South Dakota, the daughter of the late Philip and Philomena (nee Beauvais) Amiotte. She was a lifetime member of the Lake Station, American Legion, Post 100 Auxiliary member Phyllis will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and friend.
Phyllis is survived by her loving family, five sons: Everette, Rodney, Walter, William and Randall; four daughters: Rhita, Janell, Debra and Donna; 37 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren, brother; Philip and other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by; husband, Walter Conklin, parents, two daughters; Cynthia and Xandra, granddaughter Jackie, grandson Jimmy and sister Betty Torgeson.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 8, 2011 from 1:00-9:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Avenue, Lake Station. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart.
