Phyllis Gee

Age 92, a lifelong resident of Lake Station, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2019. She was born on November 24, 1926 in Valparaiso, Indiana to the late Manley and Margarete (nee Byers) Smith. On November 11, 1946 she married the love of her life, Elmer W. Gee in Hobart, Indiana. She retired from U.S. Steel in 1985 after 40 yrs. Of service, and was a member of American Legion.  She loved to crochet, take walks and spend time with family.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Don) Copus of Pleasant Ridge, Michigan; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Charlyne Price and Clara Patterson and many loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer W. Gee "Buzz"; daughter, Margarete Tabone and brother, James R. Smith.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Phyllis's family would be appreciated.

A funeral service will take place Thursday, September26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Brady Chapel, 3781 Central Ave., Lake Station, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019  from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
