Phyllis Schmidt (Nee Callahan), age 86, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015. She was born February 3, 1929 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, to the late Frank and Margaret Callahan. Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines and was a longtime member of the M.I. Hummel Club.

Phyllis is survived by sons, Larry (Bonnie) Schmidt, Bruce (Virginia) Schmidt and Fred Schmidt; daughter, Gwendlyn (Ed) Wehner; one brother, Frank Callahan grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Sirken, Geoff Schmidt, Michael Schmidt, Greg (Eleni) Wehner and Mark Wehner; great grandchildren, Aiden and Liam Sirken, and Ani Wehner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Schmidt, , and 1 grandchild, Kelly Schmidt.
