Pietro "Pete" Maggio

Pietro "Pete" Maggio age 84 a longtime Hobart resident passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021.  He was born on April 14, 1937 in Sambuca, Sicily, Italy to the late Antonino and Francesca Maggio.  He worked at the Budd Company and retired from the School City of Hobart with over 15 years of service.  Pete was a longtime member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.  He was a member of the Sons of Italy.  Pete enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, and making his own sauce, wine, and Italian Sausage.

He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Teresa Maggio (nee Didonna) of Hobart, IN; three sons, Nino (Tracey) Maggio of Parker, CO; Lino (Nicole) Maggio of Hobart, IN; Frank (Melissa) Maggio of Lafayette, IN; two sisters, Rita Gandolfo of Sambuca, Sicily, Italy, Lilla Ciaccio of Schererville, IN; one sister-in-law, Rosetta Maggio of Sambuca, Sicily, Italy and nine grandchildren, Mason, Owen, Lauryn, Hayden, PJ, Christian, Teresa, Mattea, and Jessa.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Stefano Maggio.

Funeral services are Monday, December 27, 2021, beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart and proceeding to St Bridget Catholic Church, 107 Main Street, Hobart, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial with Rev.
