Preston O. Johnson

Age 74 of Lake Station passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at his home.

He was born on November 19, 1950, in Albany, Ky to the late Dewey and Lily (nee Goodman) Johnson. On August 31, 1974, Preston married the love of his life, Kathy Johnson, in Portage, Indiana. He retired from his position as a tree trimmer at Davey's Tree Trimming. He treasured moments with his loving wife, children and grandchildren, particularly at family cookouts. He took great pleasure in fishing and appreciating life.

Preston is survived by his wife of 50 yrs. Kathy Johnson; three children, Stephanie (David) Smith, Kenny (Nina) Johnson and Cindy Johnson; seven grandchildren, Jasmine Lambert, Andrew Johnson, Riliey Johnson, Kellan Johnson, Melanie Johnson, Peyton Johnson and Mason Johnson; brother, David (Chrissy) Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Preston was preceded in death by his father Dewey Johnson; mother, Lily Johnson; and four siblings, Bill Duncan, Louis Duncan, Lyndale Johnson and Otho Johnson.

A visitation for Preston will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 2:00- 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Ave. Portage, Indiana 46368. Cremation to follow.
