Raleigh Allen "Al" Smallwood, age 39 of Lake Station passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at home. He was born on April 26, 1983 in Merrillville, Indiana to Delbert and Roxanne Smallwood. Al was currently employed as a Millwright for Cleveland Cliffs. He graduated from Andrean High School in 2001 and was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was a voracious reader and had a passion for Religion and History. He was also a Master Mason with the M.L. McClelland Masonic Lodge #357 in Hobart. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing. He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, father, son, grandson, uncle and friend to those who love him.
He is survived by his wife, Heather (Wroblewski) Smallwood; children, Raleigh Allen Smallwood, Ryker Delbert Smallwood, Rosaleigh Ethel Marie Smallwood; his parents, Del and Roxy Smallwood; brother, Rance (Samantha) Smallwood; paternal grandfather, Raleigh Smallwood; father and mother-in-law, Daniel and Karolyn Wroblewksi; brother-in-law, Robert (Ellen) Wroblewski; nephews, Carson, Nolan, Gibson and one nephew on the way; niece, Trinity.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ethel Smallwood; maternal grandparents, Raymond Allen Hartline and Susanna Hartline.
Visitation for Al will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 am directly at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 356 W. 700 N. Valparaiso, IN 46385.
