Ralph C. Hersh, age 85, of Valparaiso and formerly of Hobart passed away Tuesday September 16, 2014 at the Avalon Springs Health Center in Valparaiso. Ralph was born May 18, 1929 in Union City, NJ to the late Ralph C. and Margaret (Sahn) Hersh, Sr. Ralph obtained a B. S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and worked as an Engineered Products Sales Representative for United Technologies and Elliott Company before retiring in 1987. He then worked for Power Tech as a sales rep for 11 years. Ralph was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart and the Hobart Boat and Ski Club.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Kay (Thunhorst) Hersh; two sons Clif (Yvonne) Hersh of Valparaiso and Jeff (Marilyn) Hersh of Pittsburg, PA; one daughter Lynn (Thomas) Corgan of Hobart; eight grandchildren Melanie Hersh, Jamison Hersh, Taylor Hersh, Christopher Corgan, Jennifer Corgan, Monica Corgan, James Corgan and Kevin Corgan; one great grandchild Farrah Hersh.

Ralph was preceded in death by twin sons Bruce and Ross, a granddaughter Amie, a grandson Spencer, his parents and one sister Priscilla Harrje.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 20, 2014 at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
