Obituary

RALPH H. LUNDEWALL, age 68, of Hobart passed away at home Sunday, April 19, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born June 5, 1957 to the late Ralph and Lorraine Lundewall, Ralph lived life fully and on his own terms. He was a proud Operating Engineer with Local #150 for over 50 years. Ralph was a man who was always busy. He loved dogs, especially Labrador Retrievers, whom he happily spoiled. His greatest peace was found at his cabin in Northern Wisconsin, fishing and unwinding in the place he loved most. His passions were many: playing cards and backgammon, collecting sports memorabilia and coins, attending baseball games, making bets on sports, cheering on his beloved Chicago White Sox and Green Bay Packers and spending his time with his grandchildren. Ralph was one of a kind and he will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lundewall; children, Ralph “Buddy” (Brittany) Lundewall and Leslie (Mason) Jones; 3 grandchildren, Jack, Lola and Jaxon; brother-in-law, Kevin Thomas; 2 sisters-in-law, Pam (Tom) Lubovich and Cheri (Tim) Bledsoe; nieces, Debbie Gensel and Dawn (Shawn) Kreczmer; many friends and other loving family. Ralph was also preceded in death by his brother, Mike Lundewall, and sister, Donna Kimmel.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hobart Humane Society.

There will be visitation for Ralph on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 2 pm until stories at 7 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart. Services will conclude at the funeral home with cremation at a later time.
