Ralph W. Warren, age 95, a longtime resident of Portage and recently from Piney Flats, TN, passed away on Friday, January 07, 2011. He was born on October 17, 1915 in Lobelville, TN, the son of William and Lillian Warren. Ralph worked as a switchman for the E.J.& E. Railroad and was the owner of Warren's Auto Sales. He was a member of the Hunkee Hollow Club, a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and a member of the Piney Flats Baptist Church.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife Mary Warren, Piney Flats, TN, sons Billy (Joan) Warren, Portage, Ronald (Barb) Warren, Portage, and Stanley (Donna) Warren, Portage, daughter Nancy Holbrook, Roanoke, VA, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and other loving family and dear friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna Warren, and 4 sisters.
A memorial visitation for Ralph Warren will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A graveside service will be offered at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 15, 2011 directly at Calumet Park Cemetery, 2305 West 73rd Avenue, Merrillville, with Pastor Terry Gibson, officiating.
