Ralph E. Young Sr., age 79 of North Judson passed away on July 27, 2011 at IU Health Starke Hospital. Ralph was born on December 1, 1931 to Owen and Mary Alice Young in Woodbine, Kentucky. He was retired from Inland Steel in 1994 after 34 years of service and he was a veteran of the Army.
Ralph is survived by his children: Ralph (Glenda) Young, Jr. of Knox, Dinah Jean (Gregory) Gue of Portage; one brother Earl Ray Young of FL and special friend Carol Bertrum of Valparaiso; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred and his parents.
A funeral service for Ralph will be Monday, August 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Pastor Richard Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 2:00 – 5:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
