Ramon M. Bran, age 76, of Lake Station, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. He was born on December 7, 1939 in Jalisco, Mexico to the late Francisco and Maria Bran. On May 15, 1970, he married the love of his life, Maria Silva. He retired from Georgia Pacific where he was employed as an operation technician. Ramon had a passion for raising horses, traditional Mexican music, and Charreria.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Bran; sons, Ramon A. Bran, Jose F. Bran; daughters, Ana (Roy) Guzman, Laura P. Bran; grandchildren, Roy Emiliano, Ramon Elias, Ruby, Manny and Sam; brother in law, Jose Silva and family; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Maria Bran; brothers, Jesus Bran, Manuel Bran; sisters, Carmen Ortiz Bran and Margareta Bran.

Visitation for Ramon will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A Mass of Christian Burial for Ramon will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2447 Putnam Street, Lake Station with Rev. Thomas Mischler officiating. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 9:15 am followed by procession to the church. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park.
