Randal Lee "Randy" Griffith Jr, age 45 of Valparaiso, passed away on January 12, 2025, he lost his battle with Loeys-Dietz Syndrome (LDS), a rare connective tissue disorder that compromised his vascular system. He was born on June 24, 1979, to Randall Lee and Polly Helen (nee Greenwell) Griffith Sr., in Munster, Indiana. On August 2, 2003, he exchanged vows with the love of his life, Sarah Lagacy in Hammond, Indiana. A graduate of Hammond High School and Indiana University. He proved to be a devoted spouse, parent, and educator, showcasing exceptional kindness, generosity, and a rich tapestry of hobbies, fishing, reading, music and fondness for the Beatles. As a sixth-grade teacher in Hobart, he taught PLTW and Science at the Middle School and spearheaded the formation of the Fishing Club and Robotics Club. His community involvement extended to Augustana Lutheran Church, robotics coaching, scout leadership, as he is a former Eagle Scout. He took an active role in supporting his children's bowling interests, providing "insightful guidance".  He maintained a strong allegiance to the White Sox and Colts, he also nurtured a love for music, skillfully playing various instruments and composing songs, and he had a love for useless knowledge. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 21 yrs., Sarah Griffith, son, Peyton Randall Griffith, daughter, Grace Elizabeth Griffith, father, Randall Lee Griffith Sr., mother, Polly Helen Griffith; two sisters, Jane Griffith and Kathryn (Michael) Salitore; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Helen Greenwell, paternal grandparents, James and Jane Griffith and uncle, Michael Greenwell.

Visitation for Randy will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm at Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, 207 Kelly Street, Hobart, Indiana 46342. A funeral service will take place Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 3:00 pm also at Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Scott Mauch officiating. Cremation will follow.
