RAYMOND E. NOLL, age 55, of Wheeler, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 13, 2011. Ray was a longtime Wheeler resident and graduate of South Central High School in 1973. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Waste Management and was a Union Steward for Teamsters Local #142 for 30 years. Ray was also a reserve officer with the Porter County Sheriff's Department for 9 years and was an avid boater. He was a member of the N.R.A., was fun loving and jovial and loved by many.
Ray is survived by his wife and soul mate, Jan, 3 daughters, Sarah Noll of Valparaiso, Mandy Noll (fiance, Anton McManus) of Hobart and Lisa Balcerak of Minneapolis, MN, mother, Dorothy June Chandos of Wheeler, 2 grandsons, Ethan Cobb & Luke Robison, 2 brothers, Larry (Diane) Noll of Wanatah, Robert (Ellen) Noll of Wheeler and 2 sisters, Arlene Durr of Wheeler and Joanne (Steve) Santos of Defiance, Ohio and numerous nieces & nephews. His father, Harry E. Noll, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers donations to the Humane Society of the United States would be preferred.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 11 am at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Rev. Brenda Ludwig officiating.
