Renate Caimens

Renate Caimens "Oma" (nee Grotz), age 91 of Portage passed away June 17, 2025. She was born on October 2, 1933, in Wangen im Allgäu, Germany to the late Josef and Aloisia Grotz.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Edward) Skaggs; sons, Peter Mauch, Kenneth (Julie) Rackow, Richard Mauch; 8 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Caimens; and her son, Gordon Mauch.

Memorial visitation for Renate will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN 46342. A memorial service will take place at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Deacon Michael Booth officiating. She will be laid to rest at a private ceremony at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
