Reynaldo Herrera

Age 65, of Portage passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023. He was born in Gary, Indiana on November 19,1958 to the late Eulalio and Sylvia (nee Tellez) Herrera.  Reynaldo was a very talented carpenter who enjoyed fixing things. He was known for his legendary holiday parties; he loved loud music and karaoke. His biggest treasure was his boys and grandchildren. He loved his Target runs with his grandchildren and was always telling the grandchildren "Santa is coming to my house." He will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Reynaldo is survived by his two sons, Eric (Ashley) Herrera and Andrew Herrera; two grandchildren, Hendrex, and Kree Herrera; his five siblings, Eulalio "Wally" (Teresa) Herrera, Joe Herrera, Ramiro "Ramido" (Jean) Herrera, Alfredo "Shorty" (Dawn) Herrera and Carmen "Tia" (William) Kelley; mother of his children, Rhonda Ogiego and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Herrera, and his parents.

A funeral service for Reynaldo will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, Indiana. A visitation will also be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of the service also at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
