Rhonda S. Tidwell, age 53 of Portage passed away Sunday, April 8, 2012. She was born on August 21, 1958 in Gary, Indiana to the late Alexander and Margaret Anderson. Rhonda graduated from East Gary Edison in 1977. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Millers Merry Manor in Hobart. She loved bowling, working puzzles, and playing solitaire and dice especially with her best friend Georgia who preceded her in death. Rhonda was a wonderful grandmother and loved going to watch the grandkids play sports. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Heather Yates, Christina (Mark) Hansen, Gwyn (Gerald) Cirak, 2 brothers, Alexander (Lynn) Anderson, James Anderson, 1 sister, Phyllis (Mark) Kilgore, 8 grandchildren, Nathan, Scott, Logan, Hayden, Alyssa, Ashlynn, Jaden, and Ryder, longtime companion, John Thomas, 2 good friends, Karen Coleman and Karen Horton, and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services are Friday April 13, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Hobart.
