Ricardo G. Vizcarra

Age 73 of Portage passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St Mary's Medical Center in Hobart. He was born on January 2, 1952, in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. On September 30, 1972, Ricardo married the love of his life Eloisa Guerrero in Mexico. He was a retired employee of the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, where he worked with dedication and pride for many years. Known for his quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor, he loved to joke and bring laughter wherever he went. He found joy in cooking and feeding his family, and his meals were one of the many ways he expressed his love. Though small in stature, everyone who knew him would say he had a big heart and a larger-than-life personality. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. His memory will be cherished forever by those who loved him.

Ricardo is survived by his wife of 53 yrs, Eloisa Vizcarra; two daughters, Judy (Luis) Colon of Valparaiso  and Julissa Vizcarra of Northport, Florida; son Ricardo Vizcarra of Hobart; seven grandchildren, Luis Alberto Colon, Lauren Alexis Colon, David Castro, Julieana Castro, Donte Vizcarra, Adriana Vizcarra and Aracelia Vizcarra; great granddaughter, Lacy Mariah Pierre; father, Jorge Vizcarra; brother Jorge Vizcarra; four sisters, Aide Vizcarra, Aracelia Robles, Adriana Cashen and Angie Caballero; numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Esperanza Vizcarra, father-in-law, Ramon Guerrero and mother-in-law Lucina Guerrero.
