Richard Chris Antonovich

Richard Chris Antonovich, age 87, of Lake Station passed away Saturday April 1, 2023,in his home with his loved ones near his side. Rich was born February 2, 1936, in Oakland, California to the late Chris and Christina (Perez) Antonovich. Richard retired from the Chicago Transit Authority where he served in their emergency response team. Richard was a veteran of the US marine Corps. Rich loved fishing and was a notorious Joker with a great sense of humor. He was a man that would help a friend in any time of need.

Rich is survived by, his loving Fiancée, Shirley Slider; a daughter, Diana (Mark) Funk; two grandsons, Braden and Zander; a brother, William (Shirley) Hanford; brother-in-law Russ Miller; and Shirley's loving family, including her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Chris Antonovich and Christina Antonovich Hanford, and several brothers and sisters.

Memorial Services will be held for Richard at 1:00 pm Monday April 10, 2023, at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 with Pastor Daniel McLemore officiating. A Memorial Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home for two hours prior to the Service, from 11 am to 1 pm.
