RICHARD L. BUTKIEWICZ, age 73, of Portage, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Porter Regional Hospital. He was a lifelong Porter County resident and a retiree of Republic Steel. Richard enjoyed golfing and fishing, but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren. He will be missed dearly.
Richard is survived by his son, Robert (Angeles) Butkiewicz of McAllen, TX; daughter, Angela McKay (Jason Smith) of Portage; grandchildren, Sydni, Katrina, Jaelyn, Leonard, Ashley, Robert, Evelyn and Angela; brother, Donald Butkiewicz of Valparaiso; 2 sisters, Patricia (Walter) Smith of Warsaw and Janet (Michael) Plance of Portage; other loving family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Butkiewicz.
There was no visitation and burial of Richard's cremated remains will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. A memorial gathering for Richard will be held graveside at Calvary Cemetery on October 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm.
