Richard Scott Cox, age 70, of Lake Station, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015. He was born on November 14, 1944 in Morehead, KY to the late Curtis and Leola Cox. Richard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He retired from Arcelor Mittal Steel.

Richard is survived by his brothers: George (Martha) Cox of Schererville, IN, Larry (Sunny Haskins) Cox of Portage, IN; sisters: Jenny (Duane) Medley of Pasadena, TX, Sheilah (Rudy) Miller of Portage, IN, Brenda (Bill) Poe of Portage, IN; 13 very special nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Curtis and Leola Cox; brother: Gary Wayne Cox; sister: Artie Brown.

A funeral service for Richard will take place Friday, October 2, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage with Pastor Bob Burton officiating.
