Richard M. Davies

Richard M. Davies, age 86, of Portage, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017. He was born on October 15, 1931 in Stanfold Township, Wisconsin to the late David and Lizzie (nee Calligan) Davies. Richard worked as a Turn Foreman at LTV Steel. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. He was a lifetime member and past commander of the American Legion Post #100. He was also a member of the Marine Corps League and the Forty & Eight.

Richard is survived by his sons, William (Kathy) Davies, Richard II (Roberta) Davies, Greg Davies, Steven (Darlene) Davies; daughter-in-law, Pamela Davies; grandchildren, Timmy, Tony, Ruthann, Shawn, Jermey (Anna), Jared (Richelle), Eric (Lauren), Melissa, Nichole and Rachael; 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Norma Ann Davies in 2003 and one son, David Davies.

A funeral service for Richard will take place Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage, Indiana with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will take place Friday, October 27, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Calvary Cemetery.
