RICHARD D. "DICKIE" BISHOP, age 73, of Portage, and formerly Hammond, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015. He was born on February 22, 1942 in Bayfield County, Wisconsin. He served in the Navy and worked as a truck driver for Local #142 for many years. Richard was a jack-of-all-trades and will be remembered as a simple man with a big heart.

He is survived by his son, Richard A. (Cora) Bishop; daughter, Valerie Krueger; 7 grandchildren, Jason and Johnathan Jordan, Richard and Russell Krueger, Amie Berry, Daniel Patton, Jr., and Bradley Patton; 7 great grandchildren, Brody Jordan, Grace, Gretchen, and Lane Krueger, and Jonan Jordan, Blake Patton and Isabella Patton; 7 siblings, George (the late Babs), Pete (Anita), Darlene (Larry), Betty (Andy), Cindy, Sherrie, Barbie (Paul); longtime companion, Gale Swordsfigure; many nieces and nephews; special neighbor family, Pete, Alex, Ninah and Journey Galarza.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude Bishop; son-in-law, Jack Krueger; brother, Dale Allen Bishop.
