Age 79, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Millers Mary Manor in Portage, Indiana. He was born on April 7, 1936 to the late Bruno and Lenora (Nee Pikula in Gary, Indiana. Richard was a retired Industrial Salesman for G.W. Berkheimer. On May 3, 1958 Richard married the love of his life Virginia Petritis in Gary, Indiana. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his wife; Virginia Lach, of Portage; two daughters, Karen (Ray) Przybysz of Grand Island, Florida and Marcia (Tony) Gawrysiak of Westchester, Illinois; grandchildren, Eric (Angela) Spurr, Kyle (Jessica) Spurr, step-grandchildren, Raymond and Zach Przybysz; three great-grandchildren, Madden, Peyton and Greyson Spurr, two step great-grandchildren, Zach Taylor and Jocelyn Lipscomb; two sisters, Lenore (Fred) Sobkowski of Portage and Jeri Mikenas of Valparaiso, and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Vic Mikenas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Nativity of Our Savior Church, 2949 Willowcreek Road, Portage, Indiana, 46368 with Rev. Andrew J. Corona officiating. Visitation for Richard will be Friday, May 29, 2015 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with prayers at 4:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana, 46342.
