Richard Lee Poling

Richard Lee Poling, 57, of Union Township died Friday March 24, 2017. He was a lifetime resident of Union Township, a graduate of Wheeler High School and received his BS in education from Indiana University Northwest and received his state of Indiana teachers license. He was an Estimator for Boyd Asphalt for 10 years and was a member of the Valparaiso Moose Lodge #1357. Richard was an adventurer and enjoyed visiting Asia as well as other countries with his friends and an avid firearms enthusiast.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia (Michael Belew) Poling of the Villages, FL, brothers, Don (Deb) Poling of Union Mill, IN, Bill (Sandy) Poling of Merrillville, Ken Stowers of San Antonio, TX, nephews and nieces: John, Adam, and Ashley Poling, Justin (Naomi) Poling, Joel (fiancée, Leah) Poling and Nathan Poling.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday March 30, 2017 at 10 am at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. with visitation Wednesday from 4 -8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Porter County Animal Shelter, 2056 N 50 W Valparaiso, IN. 46385.
