Richard "RJ" Yarchan, age 24, of Gary passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was born August 24, 1989 to Annette Blackwell and Richard Yarchan. RJ was a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mother, Annette Blackwell; father, Richard (Christine) Yarchan; girlfriend, Kylie Schauer; children, Gabriel and Makayla; brothers, Nicholas Long-Hoholek and Robert Yarchan- Hoholek; sisters, Rebecca (Jeremy) Silver, Sarah Blackwell-Yarchan, Elizabeth Blackwell-Yarchan, and Anna Hoholek; and nieces and nephews, Brianna Peterson, Kyle Peterson, Jesse White III, Cayven Silver and nephew on the way, RJ Blackwell-Yarchan.

RJ was preceded in death by his sister, Jessica Blackwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Richard's name may be made to the family.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel 600 Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
