Richard Dean Sanders Iii

Richard Dean Sanders III, age 33, of Hobart passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 knowing he was loved by many who never gave up on him while he battled his bipolar disorder and addiction.  He was born in Long Beach, California on July 10, 1986.  He loved his son so much and loved to share his joy for the outdoors with him.  Dean had a heart of gold, but it was not strong enough to fight anymore.  He is home with his dad and brother whom he missed immensely.

Dean is survived by his mother, Leslie (Terry Hough) Sanders of Hobart; sisters, Clare (Kris) Springman of Westville, Lauryn (Jameson Givan) Sanders of Portland, OR; fiancé, Candace Todd; son, Richard Jakobe Sanders; stepson, Walter Todd; sister in law, Ruth Ann (Nate Buckley) Sanders; nieces, Gwen Sanders, Madison Buckley; nephew, Clayton Buckley; grandfather, William Knight; grandmother, Penny (Tom) Bryant; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dean Sanders II; brother, Gregory Paul Sanders; grandmother, Patricia Knight; and grandfather, Richard Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dean's son, Richard Jakobe Sanders.

A funeral service, with limited seating due to social distancing guidelines, will take place Friday, June 5, 2020 with Pastor Bob Burton officiating at 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342.  The service will stream live on Rees Funeral Homes Facebook page.
