RICHARD E. TRIMBLE, SR., age 87, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 while surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Hammond, IN on July 7, 1930 to the late Chester E. and Linnie F. Trimble.  Richard proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War.  He worked as a lab tech chemist at Monosol in Portage until his retirement.  He was a faithful member of United Pentecostal Church of Portage.  Richard will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He is survived by his 4 children, Glenn S. (Marie) Trimble, Melinda Talley, Richard E. (Patricia) Trimble, Jr. and Mary (Dan) Bernier; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Richard was also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy (nee Smith); 5 brothers, Kenneth, Robert, James, Gerald, and Thomas Trimble; and sister, Gladys Chance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard's honor, to the United Pentecostal Church of Portage.

A visitation for Richard will be Friday, June 22, 2018 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave, Portage.  Funeral services will be Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Pentecostal Church of Portage, 2865 Willowdale Rd., Portage with Rev.
