Ricky L. McWhirter, age 45, died Sunday, October 11, 2015 in hospice care when Liver and Lung Cancer took over his body. Gone, but never forgotten. Ricky was a loving Son, Father, Brother, Uncle and Friend. One of his greatest joys was being a father to his daughter. He also loved to fish and hunt. He supported the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He was loved by many.

Survivors include: his mother, Shirley McNabb; daughter, Alysa McWhirter; brother, Rich McWhirter (Tina); sister, Kathy Snead; Nephew, Drew Mora (Kate); Nieces, Kristina Mora and Sarah McWhirter; two great nephews and two great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his step-dad, Harley McNabb and his father, Richard McWhirter.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 2:00 pm at The American Legion Post #100 on Central Avenue in Lake Station. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are preferred to the Alysa McWhirter Memorial Fund c/o Chase Bank 6200 Central Avenue, Portage, IN 46368
