Ricky D. Vajner, age 67, of Lake Station passed away April 16, 2020. Ricky was born May 20, 1952 in Gary, Indiana to the late Andrew and Sophie (Garcia) Vajner. Ricky was an Owner-Operator and former member of the United Teamsters Local Union #142. He was a former Lake Station Jaycee and a former Volunteer Firefighter in New Chicago.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Jean Vajner of Lake Station; his daughter, Michele Vajner of Canton, GA; his son, Brandon O'Brien of Chesterton; his grandson, Daemon O'Brien; his sister Pamela Holman of Lake Station; his niece, Polly (Jeff Foster) Holman of Washington state.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Shawn Vajner.

Due to the risk of COVID-19 at this time Ricky will be cremated and a Life Celebration will be scheduled at a later date.
