Rik Alan Eickstead, of Hobart, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016. Rik was born September 8, 1960 in Bloomington, Indiana, to Dean Eickstead and Joann (nee Clemens) Brickman. Rik's most treasured time was spent with his granddaughter Julia. He was an avid sports fan who also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He will be remembered as a loving father, son, grandfather, and friend.
Rik is survived by his three sons, Benjamin (Susan) Eickstead, Matthew (Kate) Eickstead and Zachary (Jovana) Eickstead; granddaughter, Julia Eickstead; mother, Joann Brickman; sister, Kathi (Bob) Eickstead-Webb, and many other loving family members and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Dean Eickstead.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana. Memorial visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
