Rita Faye Darling

Age 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Broadway Methodist in Merrillville. Rita was a member of Northlake Church of Christ in Gary, of The Sister Connection and The Lady Prayer Warriors. Rita was born on December 26, 1944 to the late Robert and Margie (nee Conover) Santell in Gary, Indiana. She married the love of her life Timothy Ellis Darling on May 25, 1991 in Gary, Indiana. Rita will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Rita is survived by her husband, Timothy E. Darling of Gary; four sons, Thomas (Stephanie) Leto and Eugene (Erica) Leto both of Florida, Mac (Karin) Cannon II of Hebron and Michael (Kimberly) Cannon of Wisconsin; daughter, Debi (David) Brown of Portage; step-daughter, Brandy Darling of Gary, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Sherri) Santell of Florida; two sisters, Debbie (August) Stinnet and Robin Manns both of Rolling Prairie and many other loving family members and friends.
Rita was preceded in death by her son, Mark Leto; daughter, Candice Cannon and her parents.

A funeral service for Rita will be Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:00 am directly at Northlake Church of Christ, 1000 East 21st Ave. Gary, Indiana, 46407 with Pastor Reginald Burrell officiating. Burial will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 1:00-8:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart Indiana.
