Robert "Bob" Arthur Johnson

At age 98, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family, Bob was called home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born the son of Walter and Emma (nee Andersen) Johnson on December 25, 1926, in Gary, Indiana.  Bob retired from Southern California Edison where he worked as an Electrical Engineer for 36 1/2 years. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. On October 4, 1945, he was inducted into the Army at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. On Jan 7, 1977, Bob married the love of his life Lily (nee Jatulan) Johnson. Bob will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Lilia Johnson; son, Robert W.  "Bob" Johnson; two daughters, Marilynn (Charles) Lisanti and Jacqueline "Annie" Johnson and other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas (Lynn) Johnson and twin sister, Nyla (Mitch) Bugarin.

A funeral service for Bob will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Rees Funeral Home 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana 46342. A burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. A visitation for Bob will also be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of service at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
