ROBERT T. "BOB' CROWE, age 86, of Portage, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at home. Robert had been a lifelong Northwest Indiana resident and served in the US Army during WW II and the Army Air Force during the Korean War. Bob was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart and former resident of Brentwood for 6 years. He retired from Republic / LTV Steel and subsequently worked for the Indiana Toll Road for a few years. Bob enjoyed building clocks and working with stained glass crafting various items like lamps.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Joyce Crowe, 2 children, Thomas Robert Crowe and Penny (Jim) Kortan of Texas, 3 step-children: Pamela (Ivan) Hiestand, Jeffrey Blatz and Elaine(Mike)Vucelich, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Drive, Hobart, with Rev. Gary S. Nagy officiating.
