Robert Dean Jones II "Bobby", age 56 of Portage passed away unexpectedly Monday, October 20, 2025. He was born on February 2, 1969, in Valparaiso, Indiana to Robert and Ruth Jones. Bobby graduated from Portage High School class of 1987 and went on to obtain a bachelor's degree in building construction from Purdue University. While at Purdue, he was a member of Kappa Delta Ro Fraternity.  Bobby worked for Kohl's for 11 years and went on to become an independent contractor. He had a vibrant personality and a real passion for living life. His smile was so bright, it always lit up the room. Bobby never met a stranger and had a natural ability to connect with people. He will always be remembered for his infectious laughter and the joy he brought to others.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Ruth Jones; brother, Ryan Jones; nephew, Andrew (Brittany Kritlow) Jones; niece, Victoria (Matt Lynn) Jones; great nephew, Carter Cunningham; uncle, Jay Johnson; aunt, Tammy Johnson; best friends, Jimmy Starcevic and Larry Riffett; and many loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Louise Jones, uncle, Dr. Howard Jones, Jr.; cousin, Shari Jones Prentise; grandparents, R.O. and Betty Johnson; and uncle, Dean Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Visitation for Bobby will be held Monday, October 27, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Ave., Portage.
