Robert E. "Pat" Murphy
Miller, Indiana
Robert E. "Pat" Murphy, age 99, a longtime resident of Miller, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012. He was born on April 27, 1912 in Saint Peters, Missouri, the son of William and Stella Murphy. Pat was a co-owner of Pat and Hanks Tavern, which then became Murphy's Tavern in Miller. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 279 in Miller. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edward Murphy, his sister Dorothy Murphy, as well as his lifetime friends and business partners Henry and Carol Cook. He leaves behind to cherish his memory the Cook Family children and other dear friends.
A visitation for Pat Murphy will be held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Rees Funeral Home – Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage with funeral services at 2:00 pm with Pastor Deb Rousselle, officiating. Cremation will follow and burial of cremains will be at Westville Cemetery at a later date.
