Robert S. Evans

Robert S. Evans, “Bob”, age 75, of Hobart passed away Saturday April 18, 2026, at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Bob was born March 13, 1951, in Gary, Indiana to the late Robert S. and Irene (Rongers) Evans. He retired from US Steel with over thirty years of service. Upon retirement, Bob proudly worked maintenance for Hilton Garden Inn of Merrillville and Kirby Manor of Hobart. He enjoyed woodworking and could build or repair almost anything around his home. He was a Naval Veteran that served during the Vietnam Era. He is survived by his loving wife, Colette Evans of Hobart; two sons, Ryan Evans of Hobart, and Shane (Kelly) Evans of Hobart; his daughter, Shannon (Chris) Anders of Elkhorn, NE; three grandchildren, Lucy Blohm, Cooper Evans, and Presley Blohm; two sisters, Liz Obenberger of Green Bay, WI, and Sue Lefevre of Appleton, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial visitation for Bob will be held at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342 on Friday April 24, 2026, from 3-7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Hobart Humane Society.
