Robert Wayne Evers

Robert Wayne Evers, age 70, of Lake Station passed away Friday January 7, 2022 at Northwest Health Portage.  Rob was born November 3, 1951 in Harvey, Illinois to the late Nicholas and Florence (Wieringa) Evers. He was a forklift operator that worked 32 years for Jefferson Smurfit Stone.  He loved NASCAR, NHRA Drag Racing, Motocross Racing, and antique car shows. He also loved to spend time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra of Lake Station; two sons, Scott (Sharon) Evers and Steven (Kristy) Evers both of Maryville, TN; eight grandchildren, Samantha (Tyler), Alyssa, Jake, Tyler, Jackson, Bella, Michael, and Josh; three brothers, Donald (Susan) Evers of Munster, David (Brenda) Evers of Chicago Heights, IL, and Richard (Patti) Evers of Dolton, IL; two sisters, Debbie (Brian) Conklin of Naperville, IL and Betty Beck of New Lenox, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Christopher; one brother Daniel and one sister Barbara.

A memorial visitation will be held April 9, 2022 from 2-6 pm at the Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, IN 46368.
