Robert M. Herrin, age 52, of Hobart passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was born April 21, 1964 the son of Robert E. and Marlene Herrin in Hammond, Indiana. On July 17, 1993 Robert married the love of his life Denise De Chantal in Munster, Indiana. Robert was employed at Hi-Hard in Harvey, Illinois where he worked as a machinist. He enjoyed spending time with his family, managing and being a coach for the Hobart girls Softball league and was an avid Cubs fan. Robert was a loving husband; father, brother, son, son-in-law, uncle and friend.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Denise D. Herrin of Hobart ; his three children, Kate, Margaret and Brett Herrin all of Hobart; father, Robert E. Herrin of Munster; brother, Tim (Cathy) Herrin of Terre Haute; three sisters, Lori Mendoza of Munster and Deanna (Susannah) Herrin of Portage and Heather Herrin of Munster; father and mother-in-law, Dennis (Dianne) De Chantal of Munster; two brother-in-laws, Jeff (Janeen) De Chantal of Westville and Brad (Jennifer) De Chantal of Key Largo, Florida, many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene (nee Mecyssne) Herrin.
A Funeral will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana. Burial will follow in Chapel Lawn Cemetery.
