Robert A. Hunter "Bob", of Crown Point, passed away Wednesday November 9, 2016 at St Mary Medical Center in Hobart. Bob was born June 19, 1934 in Rensselaer, Indiana to the late Benjamin Russell and Mable Marcella (Kooy) Hunter. He was a farmer and worked construction as an operating engineer out of local union #150. Robert was a member of M. L. McClelland Lodge #357 F. & A.M. for over 50 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Bernadine "Bernie" (Girard) Hunter; three daughters, Deborah (Kenneth) Hays of Granger, Rebecca Davis of Lowell and Marcella (Tom) Anderson of Austin; seven grandchildren, Robert Hays, Katie (Scott) Gordon, Cameron Davis, Moriah Davis, Abby Davis, Maddy Davis and Jonathan Carver; four great grandchildren; three siblings Dorthy (Dean) Bachelder, Larry (Janet) Hunter and Mona (Warner) Clark; and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother James Hunter.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday November 15, 2016 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana with Mr. Ron Buche officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Roselawn, Indiana. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Monday with a Masonic Memorial Service at 5:30 pm at the funeral home.
