Robert "Bob" J. McKenna, age 79, of Hobart passed away Friday June 25, 2021 at the St Mary Medical Center in Hobart.  Robert was born September 12, 1941 in Gary, Indiana to the late Irene (Minniti) McKenna. Robert was an instrument technician who worked for many local and international companies including Youngstown Steel and Johnson Controls, inc. He loved his family and enjoyed woodworking, doing odd jobs around the house, and uninstalling and reinstalling operating systems.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Teresa of Hobart; his daughter, Traci (Mike) Didonna of Westville; his son, Jason (Kahley) McKenna of Crown Point; his four grandchildren, Eleanor Didonna, Abigail Didonna, Kahlil McKenna, and Kegan McKenna; his two sisters, Cathy Henderson of California and Sharon Toneff of Florida; his brothers-in-law, Corky Coats and Tom (Jerry) Trojan; his sister-in-law Thelma (Mark) Bianco; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother Irene and his father Robert; his aunt and uncle, Judy and Carl Erfurth, who helped raise him; and his sister, Patricia Coats.

Visitation will be Tuesday June 29, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Rees Funeral Home 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, Indiana 46342. There will be a 4:30 pm prayer service. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday with Rev. Lourdu Pasala officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery Portage, Indiana.

Memorial donations may be made in Bob's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers
